Fluviale

Healthy watersheds. Resilient communities. Inclusive decision making.

Water systems are dynamic, and so are the communities that rely on them. Fluviale operates at the exact intersection of ecosystem health and societal need.We bridge diverse knowledge systems to provide inclusive, evidence-driven solutions. By developing robust environmental flow frameworks and predictive decision-support tools, we deliver the strategic advisory eNGOs, Indigenous Rightsholders, and governments need to navigate complex watershed challenges. We don’t just measure the river; we build the adaptive management strategies required to protect it while supporting the communities living alongside it.

Core services

Advanced information connections
Scaling complex ecological insights using high-resolution data, including eDNA and GIS. We specialise in rigorous environmental data pipeline management, structuring messy datasets to build robust, actionable decision-support frameworks.

Strategic leadership & facilitation
Connecting diverse stakeholders, Rightsholders, and scientific teams to build consensus. We expertly facilitate workshops and translate complex environmental data into actionable insights for policymakers and the public.

Knowledge braiding & data sovereignty
Co-developing predictive decision-support tools by respectfully bridging diverse knowledge systems. We strictly adhere to OCAP principles to guarantee data sovereignty and community ownership throughout the project lifecycle.

Capacity building & mentorship
Cultivating inclusive, high-performing environments. We offer direct mentorship and capacity building for cross-functional project teams, staff, and local community initiatives to ensure long-term project sustainability.

Nature-based restoration strategies
Advancing spatial analytical initiatives to identify critical areas for targeted ecological management. We transform broad datasets into high-impact, function-based spatial decision tools to guide watershed-scale restoration.

Transdisciplinary environmental flows
Developing holistic water management tools that integrate complex flow-ecology models with socio-cultural priorities. We ensure that ecosystem needs and community values actively shape management frameworks.

About us

Wendy Monk, Principal Consultant
With over two decades of expertise advancing sustainable watershed stewardship as a federal research scientist and academic researcher, I founded Fluviale to connect rigorous ecosystem science with societal needs.
My work focuses on transdisciplinary environmental flows, predictive analytics, and inclusive decision making. By respectfully bridging Western science and Indigenous priorities, I help explore complex ecological data into actionable strategies that Rightsholders, communities, and policymakers can actually use.Based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Fluviale partners with organisations across the country to build inclusive, resilient watersheds.

Let's connect

Good watershed stewardship is rooted in relationships - between the water, diverse ways of knowing, and the communities that rely on them. Let's discuss how we can collaborate to support your watershed.
